Advice On Curbing The Omentum's Momentum
posted on 10/08/2009
You have a beer belly or you know someone who does. They might not even drink beer but their waist is a lot larger than it should be and his or her belt is hidden under the belly fat. The fat did not magically appear one day. It will not magically disappear either, however it can be done. The part of your body causing your belly to grow exponentially is called the omentum. The function of the omentum is to store fat. It stores fat when we need it but because of our unhealthy diets of sugar and fats, it stores it and has no outlet for getting rid of it. It just continues to grow and grow and affects our health negatively.
Again, the omentum is designed to get larger and it can get smaller with the proper diet and exercise. Measuring around your belly button, the target waist size for a man is 35 inches and for women, 32.5. An unhealthy omentum stores the bad fats. To rid yourself of the beer belly effect you need to reduce the omentum. Trying to to sit ups to reduce the fat alone will not work for most people. Losing the omentum requires a lifestyle change. Eating healthy foods and adding exercise to your week.
The omentum is an organ in the body and therefore liposuction is not an option to rid yourself of the velly fat. If you are a man or woman and your waist is above the recommended size you need to purpose yourself to make a change. As the omentum gets bigger it starts to push the rest of your core organs back and they get squeezed into whatever room is left. Fat from the omentum also gets transferred to the liver and has adverse affects on your body.
Good news is that the omentum can be reduced. You need to get up off your behind and exercise. It only takes three days a week at fifteen minutes a day. Doing the correct exercise will help you lose that weight and waist. You have to alter the way you eat. Get rid of the useless calories you get from junk food and fast food, sodas and store bought juices. You need a diet that includes 8 glasses of water a day. You need fiber to help remove toxins that have been building in you for years and also aid in digestion. Fiber has been credited for keeping colon cancer at bay.
